I'm Melanie Russell, designer & maker of unique mosaic artworks using recycled vintage china. This is a lovely way to reimagine all those china tea sets that are not as fashionable as they once were. These beautiful works of art are often neither used nor displayed, yet for sentimental reasons many people find them hard to let go of.

 

Having something bespoke made is a great way to remember someone special and to create a new heirloom.

 

I like to incorporate other embellishments & quirky details into my designs, and I try to include the maker’s mark to show the china’s provenance. In fact, these little stamps are  often as pleasing to look at as the pattern on the reverse.
