Hello! I'm Melanie Russell, designer & maker of unique mosaic artworks using recycled vintage china & glass. This is a lovely way to reimagine all those china tea sets that are not as fashionable as they once were; hence, they're often neither used nor displayed, yet hard to let go of for sentimental reasons.

 

Having something bespoke made using their china is also a great way to remember someone special - fusing your styles to create a new heirloom.

 

I like to incorporate other embellishments & quirky details into my designs, and I try to include the maker’s mark to show the china’s provenance. In fact, these little stamps are often works of art in themselves, as pleasing to look at as the pattern on the reverse.

 

My portfolio includes stags, year-round wreaths, birds, hares, hearts, stars, angels, fish, wall plaques, clocks & mirrors. My Christmas collection includes festive wreaths & table centrepieces, plus lots of lovely hanging decorations. You can find examples of my work in the Gallery.
